FREE Hot Chocolate for Kids on Rainy Days

True to their word..."Free Hot Chocolate for Kids on Rainy Days”! That's right, In-N-Out offers FREE Hot Chocolate for Kids on Rainy Days. John from customer service said your kids do have to be with you and that no other purchase is required. But come on, grab a burger or fries anyway, as long as you waited in that long line.

DOES IT HAVE TO BE ACTIVELY RAINING?

He also said that it doesn't have to be actively raining, but that it has to have rained at some point that day. However, others have told me that individual locations only honor this if it's actively raining or when they have their "Free Hot Chocolate For Kids" sign out. So it might just depend who's working that day and what location you go to.

WHAT'S IT MADE WITH AND OPTIONAL ADD-IN

It's made with Ghirardelli chocolate powder + water and you should ask for the optional freeze dried marshmallows; which are actually pretty good. Ours was a tad sweet, so I added a bit of water to it before giving it to my kids.

YOU CAN ALSO BUY IT ANYTIME

If it didn't rain that day or they don't honor their policy for whatever reason, you can also buy it anytime year-round for about $1.60+ (depending on location).

SOME HISTORY

In-N-Out used to sell Hot Chocolate regularly in the 50's and 60's, but somewhere along the way it fell off their menu. They recently brought it back in January 2018 and began their free hot chocolate for kids on rainy day offer.
